HENRI MATISSE

Hello everyone! We are already back from the last school year and we are ready to begin the artist's corner! This time we have started meeting Henri Matisse, a painter who invented a new form of art: THE CUT-OUTS. He started drawing using scissors and making collages adding this cut-outs to other pieces of papers.
This way, we are learning how to draw by scissors, without using any pencil so, as Henri Matisse said, the scissors are also an artistic tool.

FuNTASTIC ANIMALS


We are ready again to start a new activity at Artists' Corner. This time we are going to create animal sculptures in small groups using "paper mache" technique. CHRISTMAS BAGS CRAFTS

At the artists' corner we are preparing and creating designs to decorate paper bags. We can print, cut and stick, draw, colour,...,whatever you can image will be a great idea to decorate a paper bag. Today, we are going to decorate paper bags with xmas papergift, pictures, buttons, laces,... Here you have some examples of what we can do:

Watercolours!!!

This time at 2nd cycle we have experimented with watercolours, we have seen what happens when we use watercolours on wet paper and how different it colours on dry paper; we also have observed what happens is we put salt when the paint is wet; finally, we have used white wax before painting to see what happens. After doing free paintings, we have drawn different flowers with bright and shiny colours.

We start a new activity at 2nd cycle!!!
This time we are going to be creative making different types of AFRICAN MASKS using recycled materials and other objects.
Our purpose is to create a carnival atmosphere in our corridors.

MOSAICS WITH TILES

At 2n cycle our second activity is called  MOSAICS.  We are making great pictures by sticking pieces of tiles onto a piece of wood.
First we prepare our design, then we stick the tiles with glue and finally, we refill de joints with grout. When it's dry, we just have to clean it.

MODELING WITH SALT DOUGH

At 2nd cycle we have started at the artists' corner making crafts from SALT DOUGH.
It's very easy to prepare it, just put in a bowl 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of salt and 1 cup of water and mix all together.
Model some figures with this dough and bake it in the microwave for 3/4 minutes. Now, it's ready to be coloured.
